Cool press for quilts and quilting

pottery-barn1I’m on a lot of catalog lists and what fun it was to find both the new Pottery Barn and the L.L. Bean catalog in the box on the same day. L.L. Bean carries the good standbys, but it’s the Pottery Barn that I think sets the newest style trends. Well guess what? Both catalogs featured quilts on the covers and both had many more quilts inside. It looks like the Pottery Barn is offering five different quilts and L.L. Bean showcased nine. The Pottery Barn even told a little about their quilts and guided readers to their Web site “to learn more about the history of quilt making.” Consumers go to www.potterybarn.com search for “quilt shop” (doesn’t that have a nice ring to it?). Click here for a direct link and you’ll find two lovely videos on the intro to the quilt page. The first video features quilt designer Denyse Schmidt (Denyse has designed one of the quilts in the Pottery Barns collection) and the second videos features quilt historian Robert Shaw. With press like this, to the audience both these catalogs have, I sense a whole new revival for quilting. This is very cool!

  1. I’m a independent quilt shop owner, A Quilting Affair located in Austinburg, Ohio. I recieved a free sample of the magazine and would like to get regular issues through subscription. Can I do this through the web site?
